Caleb takes out one of his spare shirts and very gently picks up the wounded Pokemon placing her on top of it.
"I think we can make Pewter City by nightfall but I doubt she will like the city. If you can go to the Pokecenter and buy a Potion for her then we can just spend the night there. I'll be happy to give you the money. And we should probably stock up on some other supplies for Pepper and Rawlf just in case. I didn't think of that before we left Cerulean."
Slowly he starts walking down the path to Pewter City, trying to move the wounded Pokemon as little as possible.

Mariko and Pepper race down the path to get a Potion for the wounded Pokemon.
When the race back to Caleb, he gently places the Pokemon down onto the ground and administers the Potion.
The wounded Pokemon hobbles to its feet, its wounds mostly closed. Its family comes out of the bushes and surrounds it dancing happily. The family leader nods solemnly at Mariko and Caleb before hobbling off into the forest.
Caleb spent 300 on a Potion.

Caleb takes the bloody shirt and wads it up.
"Hopefully, Pewter City will have some place I can wash this too. I'm glad the Pokemon will be okay. Let's hurry so we can get there before nightfall."
He and Rawlf start quickly heading down the trail.

Mariko follows at a jog, she and Pepper tired from running. The two are quiet, pleased with how their day went and just want to make it there in time.

There is a problem with our search function on the site and some Proboard admins are looking into it. Where did you get the prices? I found potions were 200. I'll double check though. Or are you changing the price for this particular PokeMart?) Mariko picks up three potions and six pokeballs. Tucking the items in special pockets in her pack, she is ready to go. (I just pulled them off the wiki, I haven't checked the books...I'll adjust it to however it's supposed to be. My bad.  ) Caleb buys 5 pokeballs and 5 potions and tosses them into his backpack. Total: 2000 "We should be prepared now, right buddy?"Rawlf meeps at him happily. Walking outside, he sees Mariko leaning against the building. "I guess you're ready. Hopefully we can make it to Pallet Town today without too much of a problem."

[Viridian Forest]  After a little walking, Caleb and Mariko find themselves on the edge of the Viridian Forest. The forest is a very popular place for new Trainers to hunt Pokemon and test their skills against each other, however it can be dangerous to the unwary.
The day is pleasant, however, and the breeze is cool. It is very easy just to relax and enjoy the walk through the forest.

Both of you notice a rustling in the bushes. As the two you come closer to the rustling, two little rat-Pokemon roll out of the bush wrestling with one another. Suddenly they jump to their feet and look at the two of you. One of them appears to be the baby that you saved the day before. "Oi, a Ratatta! I've been looking for one of those, and now I've found two."Mariko and Caleb spin around and notice a young man around there age come out of the woods. On seeing them, he just grins. "We can battle for first dibs if you'd like."Upon seeing the newcomer, the two Ratatta cry out and dart back behind the bush. The young man turns his cap backwards and throws out two Pokeballs crying "Pikachu! Weedle! I choose you!"[Combat Begins!]

Mariko shrugs to help Pepper jump off her shoulder to land before her. The Eevee snarls and glares at the young man. Mariko picks up a rock and juggles it. "Those two are our friends. I'm not going to let you capture them. Eevee get a little closer and use sand attack towards the Weedle."
