"Everything ok, Pepper? Can I come out now?" Mariko inches into view, hands at her sides in a relaxed manner.
"That isn't fair. You don't even know my Trainer. I've heard Farfetch'd aren't very kind, but I didn't believe it. Everyone is different." Pepper snorts and turns around. "But maybe you don't want to make friends and not be alone any more."

And Farfetch'd squawks in surprise as Mariko comes into view and flutters out of the pond and onto the shore further away from Pepper and Mariko.

Mariko holds up her hands. "Woah, no need to be afraid. I'm not going to do anything." She sits on a rock near the water. "You ok, Pepper?"
Pepper smiles and replies happily towards Mariko before turning her head back to the wild pokemon. "You think it is bad to be a pet? To have someone care for you? I think you have been alone too long if you think that. Nothing in the world could be better than having such a family and getting to go on adventures with them."
